Summary
Bode was born at Exeter, England, and came to Australia with her family aged two. She grew up in Adelaide and went on to become a teacher. She published a number of poems, articles and short stories in journals and newspapers, as well as contributing a poem to The Australian Ladies' Annual (1878). A self-published volume of poetry, Original Poems, came out in 1885.
